Kristy Kahl, MS
Marriage & Family Therapist
We can all lose hope or feel like giving up when life and relationships seem too overwhelming. I am here to help you through these difficult times. I work with couples, individuals and families, and I specialize in working with teens.
Individual Adolescent, Adult and Family Therapy
I am passionate about working with teens and parents, to help make adolescence, and parenting, more rewarding for everyone. I have more than eight years of experience working with young people, much of which includes helping to improve family and relationship problems, symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, and self-harm, as well as to learn effective coping and emotion regulation skills.
I enjoy working with adult individuals as well, and can help with depression and anxiety, relationship problems, self-esteem, trauma, and issues specific to women, among others. I provide a safe and validating atmosphere, to help ease any anxiety or uncertainty you may feel about coming to counseling. Whether you come to therapy individually or as a family, I can help you make the changes necessary to improve your life and your relationships.
CFTC promotes an ongoing commitment to learning and growth in the field of couples and family therapy. I share this commitment, and through training and supervision, I aim to ensure my clients receive the best care possible.
Couples and Relationship Counseling
I am able to help with many issues that bring couples to therapy, including emotional closeness and connection, sexual health and intimacy, parenting difficult children, as well as issues specific to same sex couples, pre-marital couples, and more. By increasing trust, intimacy and security, and finding more effective ways to communicate, I can help you find happiness in your relationship once again. I can also help you make positive changes through individual therapy, even without your partner present.
The ongoing training and supervision I receive at CFTC focuses primarily on Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. This model works to change the negative cycles that often leave couples feeling stuck, by addressing key emotional responses and helping to build intimacy and security between partners.
Schedule and Rates
At this time, I am able to offer evening and weekend hours, as well as a reduced rate, to help make services more available to everyone.
